These terms govern entry into Speedway giveaways (trade promotions) run for Speedway Rewards members. Each giveaway also has a Draw Schedule (published on this page and shown in the app) setting out the prize, dates and draw details. The Draw Schedule and these terms together are the full terms for that giveaway; if they conflict, the Draw Schedule prevails for that giveaway.
1. The promoter
The promoter is Speedway Petroleum Pty Ltd, 26-28 Cumberland Highway, Smithfield NSW 2164, Australia ("Speedway", "we", "us"), operator of the Speedway Rewards program across participating Speedway stations in NSW and Victoria. Individual Speedway stations are independently owned and operated and are not the promoter; entry is only possible through purchases at participating stations.
2. Permits and authorities
If a giveaway is open to NSW residents and is a trade promotion lottery, it will be conducted under a NSW Fair Trading authority, and the authority number will be published here and in the Draw Schedule before the promotion opens. No permit is required in Victoria for a trade promotion of this kind. If any other state's law requires a permit or authority for a particular giveaway, the number will be added to the Draw Schedule before that giveaway opens. Any condition of an applicable permit or authority prevails over these terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
3. Eligibility
Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over who hold a current Speedway Rewards account (free to create in the Speedway app) and comply with the Speedway Rewards Program Terms and these terms. The following people are not eligible to enter or win: owners, directors, managers and staff of Speedway stations (including the promoter's own staff); their immediate families — meaning spouse or de facto partner, parents, children, siblings, and any person living in the same household; and anyone professionally connected with the promotion. Entries made by or for ineligible people are void, whether or not the system records them. We may require proof of age, identity, residency, eligibility and membership before awarding a prize, and may withhold a prize until that proof is provided to our reasonable satisfaction.
4. How to enter
Entry is automatic: when a member's in-app barcode is scanned by staff at a participating Speedway station on a fuel purchase of 30 litres or more during the promotion period, the member receives one (1) entry into the current giveaway. Maximum one (1) entry per member per calendar day (Melbourne/Sydney time), regardless of the number of qualifying purchases. No receipt upload or manual claim is required — qualifying entries are recorded electronically at the till. Entries are only valid if the barcode is scanned before payment is completed and the purchase is paid for in full; an entry is void if the transaction is cancelled, refunded, charged back, or unpaid (including a drive-off or a fuel-card debit that later fails).
Fraudulent, duplicate-account or manipulated entries are void. Our fraud-prevention systems monitor fills, and we may disqualify any entrant we reasonably believe has gamed or attempted to game the promotion, whether or not the conduct succeeds. Our entry records are, acting reasonably, the conclusive record of entries received.
5. The draw
Each giveaway runs for the promotion period shown in its Draw Schedule; entries received outside the promotion period are not included. Winners are selected by random electronic draw from all eligible entries, at the time and place shown in the Draw Schedule (default location: Speedway head office, 26-28 Cumberland Highway, Smithfield NSW). The draw may be conducted in the presence of an independent scrutineer where the Draw Schedule says so or an authority requires it. Our determination of eligible entries and the draw result is final, and no correspondence will be entered into, except where an authority requires otherwise.
6. Prizes
The prize(s) for each giveaway, including number of winners and total prize value, are described in its Draw Schedule. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash, unless the prize is itself a cash amount, in which case it will be paid by electronic funds transfer to an Australian bank account in the winner's name. If a prize (or part of one) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our reasonable control, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any directions of a regulatory authority. Unless the Draw Schedule states otherwise, winners are responsible for all costs associated with a prize — including tax, insurance, registration, stamp duty, delivery and running costs. Winners should seek their own tax advice; we make no representation about the tax treatment of a prize. Before a prize is released, the winner must provide photo ID and proof of eligibility and sign an eligibility declaration and, where the Draw Schedule requires it, a deed of release and indemnity, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Winner notification and publication
Winners will be contacted by phone and email (using the details on their Rewards account) within 7 days of the draw; it is your responsibility to keep your contact details current in the app, and we are not responsible for a winner who cannot be reached on out-of-date details. Winners' first name, surname initial and state will be published in the Speedway app and on this page within 14 days of the draw (and as otherwise required by an authority); by entering, you consent to this publication. Photos, video or interviews of winners are optional and only used for publicity with the winner's separate consent at prize collection.
8. Unclaimed prizes
Winners must respond and claim their prize within 14 days of notification, including providing photo ID, proof of eligibility and any signed documents required above. If a prize is unclaimed after 14 days, a redraw will be held at the same place and in the same manner as the original draw, no later than 14 days after the claim deadline (or as the Draw Schedule or an authority directs). The redraw winner is notified and published as above, and this section applies again to the redraw.
9. Disqualification
We may disqualify any entrant who, in our reasonable opinion, breaches these terms or the Program Terms, tampers with the entry process, acts fraudulently or dishonestly, or behaves in a way intended to undermine the promotion. Disqualified entrants forfeit all entries and any prize, and the fraud-enforcement and recovery provisions of the Program Terms apply.
10. General
By entering, you accept these terms and the applicable Draw Schedule. If a giveaway cannot run as planned due to events beyond our reasonable control (including technical failure, fraud or legal restriction), we may modify, suspend or cancel it, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage suffered in connection with a giveaway or prize, except liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or loss caused by our negligence or breach of law. Personal information collected for giveaways is handled under our Privacy Policy. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
